What the name means

ResilienceThe scholars RISE serves are already resilient. They are handling real challenges while building a future.
In ServiceNot about titles or recognition. Every title here exists in service of somebody else's excellence first.
Of ExcellenceRISE is not here to help people survive college. It is here to help them thrive through it and long after.

Common misreads

What RISE is not

    “It's for freshmen.”

    Every class year, no exceptions.

  2. 02

    “It's for people who are struggling.”

    Support here is structural, not remedial. A scholar with a 3.8 belongs as much as one on academic probation.

  3. 03

    “You have to compete to get in.”

    Every scholar who joins is placed. No selection and no house ranked above another.

  4. 04

    “They're going to grade me.”

    Scholars are never shown scores or rankings. RISE counts so a person can reach out early, not to compare anyone.
